Activities of 94 associations across Turkey terminated under state of emergency: Ministry
The activities of 94 associations allegedly "threatening national security" and with links to terrorist organizations across 20 provinces have been terminated as a part of a decree law issued under Turkey's ongoing state of emergency, the Interior Ministry stated on Dec. 30.
According to the ministry, 42 of the terminated associations had links to the Fethullahist Terror Organization (FETÖ), which has been blamed for the failed July 15 coup attempt, 26 had links to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), three had links to the outlawed Revolutionary People's Liberation Party/Front (DHKP/C), four had links to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), and the other 19 had links to other outlawed far-left groups. Their activities were terminated by the related governor's offices, the ministry said.
Since the attempted military takeover in July, a total of 1,325 associations were shut down over alleged links to terrorist organizations in line with two state of emergency decree laws.
