Victoria's Secret show is 'not a Turkish tradition,' watchdog warns TV stations
Turkey's television regulator has fined private broadcasters Star TV and NTV for suggesting that watching the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show on New Year's Eve "is part of Turkish traditions," daily Posta has reported.
"It is being presented as if watching an underwear fashion parade is a Turkish custom. This is damaging children's physical, psychological, and moral development," the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) reportedly stated in its ruling that
The ruling comes after Star TV and NTV aired a trailer before broadcasting the fashion parade, which showed Victoria's Secret models dancing along with Turkish music.
"A custom is continuing: Victoria's Secret Fashion Show New Year," the trailer also said.
