Over BGN 20 million are Invested in the Repair of the Road Targovishte - Kubrat - Tutrakan
Over 20 million leva are currently being invested in the general repair of 31 km of the road Targovishte - Kubrat - Tutrakan. In the last two years, about 12 million leva have been invested in roads in Razgrad district, the press agency of the Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA) announced.
The agency adds that in 2017 and by the end of April this year on the Razgrad - Kubrat - Tutrakan road there are ongoing repairs for over BGN 530 000 with VAT and for the improvement of the state road of Rousse - Kubrat - Zavet have been invested over BGN 138,000 including VAT.
However, tens of millions of leva, which are currently not available to the RIA, are needed for the major repairs of the two sections, the agency says.
It is recalled that in 2016 more than BGN 10 million were invested in the preventive repair of 13 km of Razgrad - Blagoevo road, 27 km from the road Samuil - Podayva and 28 km from the road Pobit kamak - Zavet, and in 2017 BGN 1 million have been invested for the repair of 4 km from the road Dralfa - Chudomir - Loznitsa.
The chronic under-financing of the road sector over the past 25 years has led to a deterioration in its condition, and currently more than 6,000 km of roads are in need of overhauling, the API said.
And they add that it is expected that with the introduction of the toll system to increase three times the revenues, which are currently over 350 million leva. These funds will be invested in the rehabilitation of roads, which will lead to improvement of the road infrastructure.
At the same time, residents of Kubrat protested this morning because of the poor condition of the roads in the region. They blocked Republican roads for Razgrad and Rousse.
