"Give Serbs in Albania better education opportunities"

Sarcevic pointed out that the meeting focused on way to improve the learning opportunities for the Serb minority in Albania, the Ministry of Education announced on Monday.

"With that in mind, I will visit Tirana and Shkodra, where a majority of citizens of Serb nationality live. As far as I am familiar a law is being drafted in Albania that will enable students to declare what language they want to study in," the minister said.
Sarcevic assessed that this was a very good way for our people who live outside the homeland to be in touch with reforms in Serbia's education. He added that it was agreed to set up working teams in Serbia and Albania, whose aim is to translate as many textbooks for first, second, fifth and sixth grade, that have been reformed.
"We have agreed on textbooks for the Albanian community in the south of Serbia. The translation will be made by experts from Tirana and the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade," said Sarcevic.
