Speaker Zorčič starting two-day official visit to Serbia
Belgrade – Parliamentary Speaker Igor Zorčič will start a two-day official visit to Serbia on Thursday to meet his Serbian counterpart Ivica Dačić. Zorčič will also be received by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, and will meet representatives of Slovenian companies in the country.
Zorčič, who will be accompanied by MPs Predrag Baković of the Social Democrats (SD) and Andrej Černigoj of New Slovenia (NSi), will meet Dačić at the National Assembly of Serbia.
This will be followed by a meeting with the chairs and members of the parliamentary committees for European integration and for foreign affairs, the Slovenian National Assembly said in a press release.
The visit will continue with a working lunch with the president of the parliamentary group of friendship with Slovenia, Milija Miletić, and a meeting with representatives of Slovenian companies in the afternoon.
On Friday, Zorčič will separately meet Prime Minister Ana Brnabić and Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Selaković, and then be received by President Aleksandar Vučić.
Before concluding the official visit, Zorčič and the delegation will be received by Belgrade Mayor Zoran Radojičić and representatives of the Slovenian community in Serbia.
This is the latest in a series of high-level meetings of representatives of Slovenia and Serbia this year, which include a visit to Serbia in May by President Borut Pahor.
