Police investigate homicide, attempted suicide

A 42-year-old woman was found dead in her apartment in Thessaloniki, northern Greece, and there is suspicion that her own father is responsible for the crime. The victim's body was discovered by her brother at her residence in the Sykies district on Tuesday. A forensic examination indicated that she had been suffocated.

Subsequently, investigators located the victim's father at his home in the Toumba district, where he had sustained injuries to his abdominal area, possibly as a result of a suicide attempt. According to police reports, the 69-year-old man has been arrested and transported to the hospital for medical treatment, while he is being guarded.

Currently, there is no available information regarding the potential motive behind the crime.
