Defeat to Sinner ends Djokovic's Australian Open campaign

MELBOURNE - Serbia's Novak Djokovic, the world number one in men's tennis singles, is out of the Australian Open after losing 6-1, 6-2, 6-7 (6-8), 6-3 to Italian Jannik Sinner in the semi-finals in Melbourne on Friday.

Sinner, who won after three hours and 22 minutes of play, is now 3-4 head-to-head against Djokovic after three consecutive wins over the Serbian.

This was Djokovic's first-ever defeat in the Australian Open semi-finals.

The loss also ended his 33-match winning streak in Melbourne.
