Construction of Serbia's largest solar power plant begins
BELGRADE/ADA - The construction of Serbia's largest solar power plant - built by the Israeli company Nofar Energy - began at Ada near Senta, northern Serbia, on Monday.
At a press conference in Belgrade, the company said the 26 MW power plant, to occupy a 30 ha area, was a 25 mln euro investment and would produce an estimated 33,150,000 kWh of power a year to meet the electricity needs of roughly 9,000-plus households.
In terms of generation capacity, it is the largest solar power plant due to be connected to the grid by the end of the year.
