Trial of accused lawyer’s ex-wife adjourned

The trial of a woman accused of threatening the wife of her former spouse, who is facing charges of domestic violence, was postponed on Thursday for November 29.

The defendant is accused of disturbing domestic peace and threatening 37-year-old Sofia Polizogopoulou when she went, along with her daughter and one of her former husband's associates, to fetch the personal belongings of criminologist Apostolos Lytras. The latter was arrested on June 20 after Polizogopulou told police he had hit her repeatedly during a fight.

The adjournment was requested by Polizogopulou who is unable to testify as she is still in hospital recovering from the assault. The accused ex-wife, who was absent from the court, had also submitted a request for postponement.
