A criminal lawyer in pre-trial detention for allegedly beating his wife and then breaching his restraining order submitted on Friday a request for his release.

The ex-wife of a criminal lawyer accused of assaulting his current wife, Sofia Polyzogopoulou, has been prosecuted for disturbing domestic peace and issuing threats. She will testify before a prosecutor on June 27. 

Authorities are seeking to arrest criminal lawyer Apostolos Lytras, 52, following a lawsuit filed by his wife, Sofia Polyzogopoulou, on Wednesday.

Lytras was charged with domestic abuse against Polyzogopoulou on Monday and was later released pending trial with restraining orders.
