Inflation eases to 2.3% in June

Greece's inflation rate amounted to 2.3% in June, down from 2.4% in May. Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) data showed that food prices increased by 2.1%, while prices in the housing, durable goods and communications categories decreased.

On a monthly basis, the consumer price index showed an increase of 0.5%, compared to an increase of 0.6% that was recorded in the same period last year.

The average consumer price index for the 12 months of July 2023 - June 2024, compared to the corresponding index for the 12-month period of July 2022-June 2023, showed an increase of 2.8%, against an increase of 7% recorded during the corresponding comparison of the 12 months of July 2022-June 2023 with the 12 months of July 2021-June 2022.
