Buyers await the new MyHome program

Home sales have recently ground to a standstill in Greece, as a large number of would-be buyers await the announcement of the terms and conditions of the new MyHome program, through which part of the mortgage interest rate is subsidized.

The new program provides for raising the age limit to 50 years (instead of 39 years in the first program). The 40-50 age group is one of the biggest age brackets of buyers, as it involves people with greater purchasing power compared to the younger ages.

Realtors stress it is important that eligible properties are not restricted to a specific category, as in the first cycle of the program.
