MPs question fate of Karditsa artworks damaged in 2023 floods

Four Communist Party MPs have tabled a question in Parliament about the fate of "thousands" of works of artists from the city of Karditsa. 

The central Greek city's municipal gallery was flooded in the disastrous storms of September 2023. The basement, where the works were stored, was completely covered in mud. 

The MPs asked questions about the storage conditions of the paintings, arguing they were piled up haphazardly in the basement. 

They also want to know what measures will be taken to restore the paintings, if they are salvageable.
