GNAF: Greek Marines 4th out of 45 teams from 18 NATO countries in an international competition for snipers

The high level of training of Greek marines is reflected by the 4th place won by the Greek team of the Special Warfare Command among 45 teams from 18 participating NATO member states in the international military sniper competition “EUROPEAN BEST SNIPER TEAM COMPETITION-24” (EBSC-24).

Greece participated in the competition, which was held in Hohenfels, Germany, at the invitation of the Commander of the United States Army Europe and Africa (USAREUR-AF).

As noted in the GEFA announcement, “the 4th place win comes on the heels of also high performance in similar competitions, where Department of Defense personnel took 1st place and 4th place in 2022 and 4th and 5th place in 2023.

The purpose of the competition was to exchange know-how and experience, tactics, techniques and use of new equipment as well as to strengthen the ties between the Snipers of the participating countries and to increase their combat capability and interoperability.
