Weather Whiplash: 31°C on Saturday Followed by a Sharp 7°C Drop

The weather will see increased changes in the coming days, with temperatures reaching up to 31 degrees Celsius on Saturday, followed by a sharp drop. EMF Director Thodoris Kolydas predicts a 6 to 7 degrees Celsius decrease after the weekend peak.

The weather change will begin at noon on Sunday, with next week starting with showers and thunderstorms in several areas.

From Thursday to Saturday the weather will remain generally clear (with a small chance of rain on Thursday in the mountains). Winds will be variable 2 to 4 and in the south northwest 4 to 5 Beaufort. The temperature will reach 28 to 30 degrees Celsius and in some places mainly in the eastern continental areas 31 to 32 degrees Celsius.

On Sunday, we see initially almost clear weather throughout the country but from the noon hours in the northwest and gradually in all northern parts of the country, a change in the weather with sporadic rain and thunderstorms is predicted. Winds will blow northwest at 3 to 5 and gradually 6 Beaufort. The temperature will drop slightly in the north.

On Monday, showers and thunderstorms in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, North Aegean and gradually in Sporades and Eastern Aegean. Possibility of strong phenomena in Thrace North Antarctic Aegean Strengthening of northwest winds at 6 to 7 and possibly 8 Beaufort in Ionian and Aegean with a noticeable drop in temperature of 6 to 7 degrees.

In the morning hours a few clouds, they are partly increasing in the northwest, with the possibility of local rain in the Ionian Sea. In the rest of the country generally clear weather with a few occasional clouds until the afternoon hours on the mainland, when local rain is likely in the northern mountains. Temperature: From 15 to 29 to 30 and locally up to 31 degrees Celsius. In western Macedonia 2 to 3 degrees lower.

IONIAN ISLANDS, EPIROS, WEST MAINLAND, WESTERN PELOPONNESE
Weather. In the rest of the regions, it will be clear with few occasional clouds until the afternoon hours, when local rainfall is possible in the northern mountains.

Winds: In the north variable 2 to 4 and in the south northwest up to 5 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 18 to 30 degrees Celsius. In the interior of Epirus 3 to 4 degrees lower.

EASTERN MAINLAND, EVIA, EASTERN PELOPONNESE
Winds: Variable 3 to 4 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 16 to 31 to 32 degrees Celsius.

CYCLADES, CRETE

Friday will be generally clear throughout the country. Visibility in the morning and evening hours will be locally limited and fog will form. Winds will be variable 2 to 4 Beaufort and only in the eastern and southern Aegean will blow north-northwestern 4 to 5 and locally in the southeast occasionally up to 6 Beaufort. The temperature in most areas will be higher than normal for the season by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius. It will reach 28 to 30 degrees Celsius and in some places, especially in the eastern continental areas, 31 to 32 degrees Celsius.

On Saturday, there will be clear skies throughout the country. Visibility in the morning hours will be locally limited and fog will form. Winds on the mainland will be variable 2 to 4, while in the Ionian Sea the winds will blow from westerly directions 3 to 4 and in the Aegean Sea from northerly directions 3 to 5 and Beaufort. The temperature will rise slightly and will reach 29 to 31 degrees Celsius in most areas and 32 to 33 degrees Celsius in some places on the eastern mainland.

Sunday, the weather will be initially clear throughout the country. From midday in Macedonia and gradually in Thrace, the northeastern Aegean, eastern Thessaly, the Sporades and Evia clouds will develop and showers will occur, while in Macedonia, Thrace and the northeastern Aegean there will be sporadic thunderstorms. Winds will blow in the Ionian Sea northwest 4 to 6 and from noon 7 Beaufort and in the Aegean Sea west northwest 3 to 5 and from the afternoon in the north 6 to 7 and locally 8 Beaufort. The temperature will drop in the west and the north, while in the rest of the regions there will be no significant change.

On Monday in eastern Macedonia, Thrace, and the islands of the northern and eastern Aegean, there will be increased clouds with showers and thunderstorms. The phenomena are likely to be strong in places but will weaken in the afternoon. In eastern Thessaly, Euboea, the Cyclades, Crete and the Dodecanese, local clouds with occasional showers. In the rest of the country, generally clear weather with a few occasional clouds. Winds will blow from the north 6 to 7 and in the sea locally 8 Beaufort with a gradual weakening from the evening in the west. The temperature will drop, which will be noticeable in central and northern Greece.
