Kasselakis faces setback as SYRIZA congress postponed

In what is seen as a setback for former SYRIZA chief Stefanos Kasselakis, the congress of the main left-wing opposition party, initially scheduled for November 1-3, has been postponed to November 8-10. The decision was made during an extraordinary meeting of the party's political secretariat on Saturday.

With this change, the deadline for member registration is now set for October 25, while the election of congress delegates will take place on November 2-3. Previously, the delegate elections were planned for October 19-20.

Under the revised timeline, candidates for party leadership will be nominated before the delegate elections.
