Middle East: Washington sends F-15 squadron ahead of Iran’s expected attack on Israel

The United States continues to send forces to the Middle East in anticipation of an expected Iranian attack on Israel, with flight tracking sites showing USAF F-15E aircraft en route to Jordan.

According to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, at least 12 of these aircraft are flying towards the region, to add to the fighter jets already deployed there.

There has been, for now, no official statement from the US military on these reports.

Earlier this week, U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin ordered several B-52 bombers and Navy destroyers to be deployed to the Middle East.

Last month, after Iran attacked Israel with ballistic missiles, the US sent to Tel Aviv the advanced THAAD anti-missile system, a critical part of the US military’s multi-layered air defense systems.
