31-year-old to testify over Ambelokipi incident

Self-proclaimed anarchist Nikos Romanos, arrested on Monday in connection with the October 31 explosion at an apartment in the central Athens neighborhood of Ambelokipi, is set to appear before a prosecutor on Friday. Romanos is expected to deny any involvement in the case.

The 31-year-old, who previously served a prison sentence for his participation in an armed bank robbery in 2013, now faces accusations of being a member of a terrorist organization allegedly planning a bomb attack.

According to his defense team, Romanos has no connection to anyone involved in the Ambelokipi explosion, which claimed the life of a 36-year-old man and seriously injured a 33-year-old woman.
