Project chronicles Greek migrant stories in Australia
A new project documenting the stories of over 100 Greek migrants who faced the challenges of building new lives in Australia has been officially launched.
According to a report by the Greek-Australian newspaper Neos Kosmos, the launch event for the Greek Australian Archive took place on Wednesday evening at the State Library of New South Wales (NSW). The event drew a packed audience, including many contributors to the project, which went live online earlier this year.
The initiative was a collaborative effort between the University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney), the State Library of NSW, the Greek Orthodox Community of NSW (GOC NSW), and the Australian Research Council.
