Man remanded over Pangrati arms cache
The renter of a storage unit that was found to contain firearms and explosives in Pangrati, central Athens, has been remanded in custody after testifying before an investigating magistrate.
The 49-year-old suspect was detained last Thursday after police identified him through ATM transaction footage, two days after the hoard was found.
He has been charged with two felonies and one misdemeanor in connection with the weapons and ammunition cache found in the storeroom. Specifically, he is accused of illegal possession of grenades and firearms intended for use in the commission of a felony, possession of explosives that could endanger human lives, and unlawful possession of weapons.
