Prosecutor appeals acquittals in charity’s child abuse case

A prosecutor has appealed the acquittals of three defendants in the Kivotos tou Kosmou (Ark of the World) children's charity child abuse case, arguing the verdicts were based on a misjudgment of the evidence.

In her appeal, the prosecutor contends the defendants committed the alleged acts and should have been convicted and sentenced accordingly.

She pointed to trial evidence showing children at the charity's shelters were subjected to forced labor under harsh conditions, including the use of dangerous tools. The prosecutor also challenged claims that the children were compensated for their work, stating that they received only low-value vouchers and were forced to work longer hours if their performance was deemed inadequate.
