Earthquake: New 4.6 magnitude tremor on Mount Athos, the third in half an hour

A new earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale occurred on Friday morning at 10:34 am at Mount Athos, 11 kilometers west northwest of Karyes.

Specifically, according to the revised solution of the Geodynamic Institute, a 4.6 magnitude earthquake occurred 11 kilometers west northwest of Karyes, with a focal depth of 14.4 kilometers.

According to local media, the strong earthquake was felt in Halkidiki and was accompanied by a load sound.

Earlier there had been two earthquakes, of 3.1 and 3.8 magnitude.

The 3.8 on the Richter scale earthquake occurred in the same area at 10:12 am. Specifically, it was a 3.8 Richter with an epicenter 12 kilometers west of Karyes and a focal depth of 14.4 kilometers, preceded by a weak 3.1 Richter tremor at 10:07.
