Road tax payment deadline fast approaching

The deadline for the payment of the 2025 road is expiring next Tuesday, with the Ministry of National Economy and Finance saying that no extension will be granted. Those who wish to put their vehicles out of circulation can submit the plates through an online process by January 31.

For those who neglect and do not pay the road tax or delay doing so, the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) has introduced a new set fines, which grows according to the delay period:

- 25% on the tax due if payment is made in January 2025.

- 50% on the tax if the payment is made in February 2025.

- 100% on the tax if the payment is made from March 1, 2025 onwards.
