13-year-old Greek-Australian wins award for raising awareness on domestic violence

A 13-year-old Greek-Australian journalist and cartoonist, Madison Eve, has earned national recognition in Australia for her work raising awareness about domestic violence, according to Australian newspaper Neos Kosmos.

The middle school student, whose family hails from Crete, won News Corp Australia's Kids News Junior Journalist Newsroom competition for the second consecutive year, claiming both Junior Journalist of the Year and News Reporter of the Year. Madison's compelling articles and illustrations tackled domestic violence, excessive screen time and the cost-of-living crisis.

"I believe young people should have a voice and take a stand against all forms of violence," Madison said.
