One dead in house fire

A house fire in a Central Macedonian town has claimed the life of one person.

Five firefighters and three tenders attended the fire, which broke out in the early hours in an apartment the town of Argos Orestiko in Kastoria.

The body of an unidentified person was discovered in the apartment during the operation.

State broadcaster ERT subsequently reported that the victim was an 80-year-old woman who lived in a basement apartment.
