Iraqi Turkmens want role in Kirkuk fight, demand arms and salary from Baghdad
Iraqi Turkmens have said they want to help defend the northern Iraqi province of Kirkuk against Islamist jihadists along with Kurdish militants and have asked Baghdad to supply arms and a budget.
"We also want to contribute to the defense of Kirkuk with the Peshmerga," Arshad al-Salihi, the head of the Iraqi Turkmen Front (ITC), told state-run Anadolu Agency on Nov. 28.
Turkish Cypriot leader announces candidacy for 2015 election
Turkish Cypriot President Derviş Eroğlu has thrown his hat into the ring by announcing that he will run as an independent candidate in the country's presidential election to be held in April 2015.
Eroğlu, who was previously elected as the Turkish Cypriot leader in 2010, became the first to announce his candidacy via a statement on Nov. 28.
NBS: RSD 1.02 trillion of savings in banks
BELGRADE - Citizens' savings has been on a constant rise and the figures reached RSD 1,020.9 billion in October, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) released on Friday.
Measured in euros in keeping with the NBS official middle exchange rate, Serbian citizens' savings totalled around EUR 8.46 billion in October 2014.
Expected December Temperatures Around Norm, Snow Likely For Christmas
The average temperatures in December will be around the norm - from around 4 to -5° in the various parts of the country, said Bulgaria's Meteorology Institute in its monthly forecast.
The expected precipitation will be around and above the norm, with snow likely around Christmas and before New Year's Eve.
December will start with rain and snow.
Retail sale in Serbia increases in October
BELGRADE - Retail sale recorded an increase in Serbia in October on both the monthly and annual level, the preliminary data by the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia show.
