Veteran journalist Hasan Pulur dies at 83

Prominent journalist and columnist Hasan Pulur, who passed away on Nov. 29 at the age of 83, will be laid to rest in Istanbul on Dec. 1 after an official ceremony. 

FM Tsakalotos says pension cuts was the right thing to do

Greek Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalos claimed that cutting the pensions was the right thing to do, during his speech at Economist conference.

Mr. Tsakalotos said that the government’s choice to cut the pensions was the right thing to do adding that social security system cannot solve all problems, such as as the employment, the tax system, etc.

HDP seeks parliamentary inquiry into Elçi's killing, cites similarities to Dink murder

The Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) has appealed to launch a parliamentary inquiry into the killing of Tahir Elçi, president of the Diyarbak?r Bar Association, citing similarities between events proceeding Elçi's killing and those surrounding the 2007 killing of Armenian-Turkish journalist Hrant Dink.

Caritas earmarks over EUR 1.5 million for migrants

Caritas Serbia has so far earmarked over EUR 1.5 million for supporting migrants in the territory of Serbia, Tanjug is reporting on Monday.

Serbian Minister of Labor Social Affairs Aleksandar Vulin and representatives of Caritas Serbia today toured a reception center in Adasevci, near Sid, north-western Serbia.

Turkey's economic foundation welcomes results of Turkey-EU summit

Turkey's Economic Development Foundation (?KV) has welcomed decisions reached at the European Union-Turkey Summit on Nov. 29, stating that they presented a chance to revive Turkey's accession process to the EU. 

"It is pleasing that a new start has been made in the relations," read a part of the statement issued on Nov. 30 by the ?KV. 

Russian navy ship encounters Turkish submarine passing through the Dardanelles

A logistics ship belonging to the Russian navy has encountered a Turkish submarine passing through the Dardanelles toward the Marmara Sea, accompanied by a Turkish coast guard boat.

The 133-meter ship, the Yauda, arrived at the Dardanelles from the Aegean Sea at around 10 a.m. on Nov. 30.

Body found inside theater premises in northern town

A lifeless body has been discovered in the building of the National Theater in Subotica, northern Serbia, Beta reported.

The agency said on Monday that this has been confirmed by the local police.

Tsipras meets Erdogan following the Twitter exchange with Davutoglu

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras had a brief meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the sidelines of the Climate Change Conference COP21 in Paris on Monday.

The meeting took place after the unbelievable Twitter exchange between Greek PM and Turkish PM Ahmet Davutoglu.

A group of Republican People's Party's (CHP) deputies from Antalya have said the Mediterranean resort may lose $6.5 billion if the tension between Turkey and Russia escalates, in a joint press conference on Nov. 30. 

Bulgarian PM Calls on Mayors to Increase Taxes Due to Rising Security Expenditures

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov called on mayors to increase the local taxes in view of the expected rise of the state expenditures on security.

Borisov noted that the EU is changing its course and will be allocating more on security, with the Union expected to exercise stricter control on EU programmes and projects.
