ND leader Mitsotakis: Tsipras should answer for Varoufakis and Plan X

New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis in an interview with “Proto Thema” newspaper stressed the big ideological differences between him and Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.

He also added that he will continue exercising a responsible and “constructive opposition” without, though, giving his full consent to an irresponsible government.

CHP 'expects' rules of engagement to be implemented for airspace violations

The main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) has said it expected Turkey would implement its declared rules of engagement in the event of an airspace violation, in response to a Russian warplane which reportedly entered Turkish airspace on Jan. 29, rekindling tension between Ankara and Moscow.

Over 100 UK Students to Study Medicine in Bulgaria's Pleven

More than a hundred students from the United Kingdom were admitted to the Medical University in the Bulgarian city of Pleven.

The students will begin their six-year education programme which is taught in English in several days.

On Sunday the rector of the university will greet the new students at a special welcome event featuring a performance of the city's folklore ensemble.

Turkmens escape to Turkey from Russian, al-Assad fire in Syria

Some 1,635 migrants, mainly women, children and elderly people, crossed into Turkey on Jan. 29 and 30 from Syria, after leaving their camp across the border due to rising security risks, as the Russian and Bashar al-Assad forces' bombardment of Turkmen villages continued.

At least 37 migrants, mostly women and children, drowned yesterday attempting to cross the sea from Turkey to reach Greece.

Turkish authorities announced that at least 37 refugees were dead, while they managed to rescue 75 people.

Explosions Near Shia Shrine in Syria Kill at Least 45 People

Three explosions occurring at a bus station near the Shia shrine of Sayyida Zeinab in the southern suburbs of the Syrian capital on Sunday claimed the lives of at least 45 people and injured scores of others.

According to Syrian state media, the explosions were caused by a car bomb and two suicide bombers.

Bulgarian Government Plans to Grant Pensioners BGN 50 M in Easter Bonuses

The Bulgarian government is planning to allocate BGN 50 M to pensioners in Easter bonuses.

This was announced by Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov on Saturday, daily Dnevnik reports.

The bonuses will be allocated from the revenues collected in the fight against contraband.
