Achtsioglou: Tsipras will remain a political asset

Alexis Tsipras "is and will remain a huge political asset for the country and for the left worldwide," one potential contender for the leadership position in SYRIZA has said.

Request filed following court decision to extend custody for Kosovo Serb -lawyer

PRISTINA - Following a decision by a Pristina basic court to once again extend custody for an arrested Kosovo Serb, his lawyer said on Friday he had filed a request for protection of legality with the supreme court of the so-called Kosovo due to gross breaches of the law during the proceedings.

Bulgaria: Electricity and Heating will become more Expensive starting tomorrow

The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission approved the new electricity and heating prices starting from July 1.

On average, the price of electricity for household consumers increases by 4.37 percent. An increase of 4.24% is foreseen for "Electrohold", for EVN - by 3.78%, and for customers of "Energo Pro" - by 5.43%. These prices include the prices for network services.

Employment service official arrested for bribery

Police have arrested an official of the Public Employment Service (DYPA) on suspicion of bribery and breach of duty.

Investigators believe that the official unlawfully deleted fines on companies for the late notification of voluntary departures of employees in return for bribes.

Household Basket extended until year’s end

The "Household Basket" measure, an institution that was strongly contested mainly by the market but which was ultimately the previous government's main tool to combat inflation in grocery items, will be extended until December 31, 2023, the development ministry has announced.

Dacic receives Norwegian foreign ministry official

BELGRADE - Serbian First Deputy PM and FM Ivica Dacic received the state secretary at the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Eivind Vad Petersson, in Belgrade on Friday.

In a statement released after the meeting, the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Petersson had called for implementation of all agreements under the Brussels Agreement.
