Provider of laser cutting and metal forming services, Sico has been in business for more than 28 years. Based in Arja Vas in eastern Slovenia, the company fesatures the biggest number of state-of-the-art laser cutting machines in the country, and its products are exported as far as New Zealand.

Russian drones attack Odesa region port facilities, Ukraine capital

Russian drones damaged port infrastructure in Odesa and targeted capital Kiev from several directions, Ukrainian authorities said Wednesday.

The army said it repelled Iraninan-made Shahed-136 drones launched from the Sea of Azov through the Black Sea that were aimed at the Odesa region.

Trump indicted for trying to overturn 2020 US election

Donald Trump was indicted on Tuesday over his efforts to upend the results of the 2020 US election -- the most serious legal threat yet to the former president as he campaigns to return to the White House.

It is the third criminal indictment of the 77-year-old Trump since March and charges him with three counts of conspiracy and one count of obstruction.

Turkish staff member at Sweden’s consulate in western Turkey shot, seriously wounded

A Turkish staff member at Sweden's honorary consulate in the western city of Izmir was shot and seriously wounded in front of the consulate building, TRT state broadcaster said on Tuesday.

Izmir's governor's office said in a statement a Turkish citizen registered to the eastern province of Agri has been apprehended.

The police are investigating the incident, it added.

Turkish woman wounded in attack at Sweden's consulate

A Turkish woman employee was seriously wounded in an armed attack on Tuesday at Sweden's honorary consulate in the western province of Izmir, officials and media reports said.

Tensions have flared between Sweden and Muslim countries following several protests involving public desecrations of the Koran - including setting pages alight.

Finds emerge in ammunition depot explosion probe

Some conclusions are reportedly emerging from an administrative inquiry (EDE) confirming that the explosions at the ammo depot on a Hellenic Air Force base last Friday in central Greece were caused by the general-purpose air-to-ground bombs (iron bombs) stored in above-ground facilities that were exposed to the heat load of the wildfire that was raging in the vicinity. 

Temperatures forecast to soar again in August

The return to temperatures in the 40s Celsius in the next few days and the longer-term forecasts for August, indicate a pattern of above-average temperatures for the month. August is expected to have temperatures up to six degrees (in terms of maximum) higher than the recent average, according to monthly projections, which however lack the precision of shorter-term statements.
