Vucic: Elections to be called by end of year for March 4

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Sunday evening he would grant an opposition demand for early parliamentary elections and local elections in Belgrade to be called by the end of this year, which means that they would be held on March 4.

Serbian long jumper Vuleta wins Diamond League

EUGENE - Serbia's Ivana Vuleta won the long jump event at the Diamond League in Eugene, US, after producing a 6.85 m leap in her last attempt in the final on Sunday.

Vuleta was tied in the first place with Nigerian Ese Brume but won due to a better second-best attempt (6.77 m compared to 6.69 m by Brume).

American Quanesha Burks took the third place with a 6.77 m jump.

Dinar-to-euro exchange rate at RSD 117.1960

BELGRADE - The Serbian dinar's official median exchange rate against the euro is 117.1960 dinars for one euro on Monday, which is a slight change from Friday, the National Bank of Serbia said.

The dinar is steady against the euro m-o-m and up by 0.1 pct y-o-y and relative to the beginning of the year.

Vucic: West ignoring Kurti's statements from Brussels

NIS - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said he was concerned over the fact the West was ignoring the statements made by Pristina's PM Albin Kurti in Brussels after the most recent round of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue on Thursday.

Speaking to reporters, Kurti said Kosovo-Metohija Serbs and Srpska lista must "suffer and pay".

Djere hands Serbia lead in Davis Cup tie vs Spain

VALENCIA - Serbian tennis player Laslo Djere beat Albert Ramos-Vinolas 6-4, 6-4 in Valencia on Friday to give Serbia a 1-0 lead in a Davis Cup Group C second round tie against Spain.

Djere won after an hour and 26 minutes of play.

Orlic thanks Angola for supporting Serbia's territorial integrity

BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Vladimir Orlic received Angola's newly-appointed Ambassador to Belgrade Emilio Miguel de Carvalho Sobrinho on Friday and thanked him for his country's principled position and support to the territorial integrity of Serbia.

Two Serbs beaten up by Pristina's police in Gracanica

GRACANICA - Three officers of the so-called Kosovo Police beat up two Serb men in central Gracanica, Kosovo-Metohija, on Thursday night.

One of the eyewitnesses told reporters that the Serbs - brothers identified as A M, aged 24, and M M, aged 19 - had been beaten up because one of them had asked the police why a traffic offence ticket was written in Albanian.

Vucic receives Portuguese ambassador

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic received a farewell visit from Portuguese Ambassador to Serbia Maria Virginia Mendes da Silva Pina on Friday and thanked her for helping to strengthen the relations between the two countries through her diplomatic work.

Petkovic: Kurti's threat to Kosovo Serbs, Srpska lista very dangerous

BELGRADE - The head of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Petar Petkovic said on Friday Pristina PM Albin Kurti's statement that Kosovo-Metohija Serbs and Srpska lista must "suffer and pay" was very dangerous and that the threat demonstrated the true nature of Kurti's regime.
