Two wildfires that burned near Athens since Sunday, destroying dozens of houses and vehicles had eased by Monday morning, officials said.

The Fire in Keratea that broke out just before 12:00 noon in the Plaka area.

Information so far says that homes have been burned. So far, 52 rescues and dozens of evacuations of homes have been carried out.

Meanwhile, traffic regulations are currently in effect and according to the Traffic Police, the following diversions remain in effect in the area of Lavreotiki:

The flames were burning low grassland but there were scattered houses in the area which could be threatened. More than 100 firefighters with 30 vehicles and four units on foot have been deployed, the fire service said. The

The situation because of the big fire in the area of ​​Vilia is dramatic. At night five more settlements were evacuated (Thea, Panorama, Paleochori, Paleokoundoura and Agia Sotira) and the nursing home "Panagia Faneromeni", as the flames that spread on a large front approached residential areas burning dense and inaccessible virgin pine forest on Mount Patera.

The fire in Keratea is in progress. Firefighters, ground and air, are trying to contain it but strong winds blowing in the area are not their ally. Three settlements have already been evacuated, namely Markati, Synterina and Agios Konstantinos, while the traffic police has suspended traffic.

At the same time, there are questions about how the front started
