Migrant reception center near northwestern border to close
The Municipal Security Council in the northwestern municipality of Sid, near the border with Croatia, had decided to shut down a local migrant reception center.
The facility in question is located near the Serbian town's railway station, Beta is reporting on Tuesday, citing Belgrade-based daily Blic.
200 illegal migrants caught in western border town
The Serbian police have carried out an operation in the town of Sid, on Serbia's northwestern border with Croatia, detaining more than 200 illegal migrants.
According to the local Sremska TV, cited by Serbia's state broadcaster RTS, this was "an operation to remove illegal migrants" during which "more than 200 of those who were not in the legal channels have been caught."

Four migrants hurt as tank car explodes at railway station
Four migrants were injured early on Thursday when a stationary tank car exploded at the railway station in the town of Sid, western Serbia.
This has been confirmed by the police in nearby Sremska Mitrovica.
