Complaints against digital platforms through Gov.gr

Citizens now have the ability to file complaints through the Gov.gr platform to the Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission (EETT) regarding breaches of obligations by digital platforms. Specifically, they can report violations of the Digital Services Act, a set of rules enforced across the European Union.

Telecom companies sign contracts for launch of 5G network

Greece's telecoms watchdog, the Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission (EETT), on Wednesday signed contracts with the country's three major telecoms providers Cosmote, Vodafone and Wind for the use of the 700MHz, 2GHz, 3400-3800 MHz and 26 GHz radio frequency band widths, which pave the way for a 5G network.

Greece secures EU okay to roll out 300 mln-euro broadband network

Greece secured EU regulatory approval on Wednesday for a 300-million-euro ($334.4 million) scheme to roll out an ultrafast broadband network across the country.

The project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund, the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and private investors.

Forthnet lands EETT contract

Athens-listed telecom Forthnet on Thursday won the tender of the Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission (EETT) to be Greece's universal service provider, for a maximum amount of 4.93 million euros per year payable by the state.

This means that the company is undertaking to supply fixed telephony local network access and voice call services in 100 percent of the country.
