Tofa?, a joint venture of Turkey's Koç Holding and Italy's Fiat Chrysler, has started the production of a hatchback model of its Aegea family (dubbed Egea in Turkish) in the northwestern province of Bursa on April 12 in a ceremony with Koç Holding Chairman Ömer Koç, senior officials and Tofa? employees.

A total of four females have become members of Koç Holding's board, a record in the 91-year-old business group's history, at the 52nd Ordinary General Board meeting on April 5. 

Ford Otosan, a joint venture between Koç Holding and Ford Company, has begun the mass production of a new generation Ecotorq truck engine, the first truck engine to be both developed and manufactured in Turkey. 

Like the previous year, a bell-ringing ceremony was held at Turkey's main stock exchange Borsa Istanbul on March 8 in cooperation with U.N. Global Compact, U.N.

Tofa?, a joint venture of Turkey's Koç Holding and Italy's Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), is set to sell the Fiat Aegea sedan to the Americas.  

The Fiat Aegea, which is manufactured in the Tofa? facility in the northwestern province of Bursa, will be exported to the Mexican market in the initial stage under the name of "Dodge Neon." 

Production at French car giant Renault's factory in the Marmara province of Bursa returned to normal on March 2, a day after workers went on strike after their colleagues were laid off, a company official has told Reuters.

"Production returned to normal as of 8 a.m.," the official said.

Workers at the French car giant Renault's factory in the northwestern Turkish province of Bursa went on strike on March 1, after 10 of their colleagues were laid off. 

Some 150 workers at Oyak Renault, a joint venture between Renault and the Turkish army pension fund Oyak, arrived at the factory on the morning on March 1 but did not start working.

Ömer Koç, the vice president of the executive board at Koç Holding, has been named the new chairman of the conglomerate, more than a month after the passing of his brother Mustafa Koç from a sudden heart attack.
