EU Commission Warns Bulgaria on Implementation of Three Directives

The European Commission made three demands towards Bulgaria in terms of complying with the legislative norms of the Union Thursday.

The representative organ has requested from the Bulgarian government that an explanation is provided in three sections: driving licences, railway transportation safety and field crops disease management.

World Press Freedom: Decline on all fronts, slight rise for Greece

Greece press freedom has risen slightly to 91st place on the World Press Freedom Index 2015 from 99th place last year (when it plummeted 14 places). The index ranks the performance of 180 countries in a number of sectors such as media pluralism and independence, press freedom and safety as well as the legislative infrastructure that governs the media.

EU Ambassadors Expect Judicial Reforms in Bulgaria by Mid-2015

The ambassadors of seven EU member states issued a joint statement on Tuesday, calling on the Bulgarian government to implement the judicial reforms it had set out to achieve.

The statement was signed by the ambassadors of France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Denmark, Finland and the charge d'affaires of the United Kingdom.
