Three Footballers from Bulgaria's Golden Generation to Join Stoichkov's Birthday Show

Three football players from Bulgaria's golden generation will join the show celebrating the 50th anniversary of Hristo Stoichkov next year.

The first Bulgarian players to confirm their participation in the show are Nasko Sirakov, Yordan Letchkov and Lyuboslav Penev.

Together with Stoichkov, they were part of one of the most successful football generations in Bulgarian history.

Global Finance magazine lowers Turkish Central Bank governor's grade

Global Finance magazine has lowered the rank of Turkish Central Bank Governor Erdem Ba?ç? from B+ to C, ranking him as one of the worst performers this year. 

Ba?ç? was not graded in his first year in the job in 2011, but took a B+ in 2012, B in 2013, and B- in 2014.

Set up in 1958 by the World Friendship Crusade in Paraguay to promote a celebration of social bonding, the commemoration took on international proportions when the UN declared it an international holiday in 2011. Since then member-states have been invited to observe the day — when they’re not engaged in warfare or civil strife.

President signs major reshuffle of ambassadors

President Klaus Iohannis signed this week several ambassador appointments, giving his seal of approval to journalist and writer Emil Hurezeanu's nomination as Ambassador of Romania to Germany, and to historian, essayist and politician Adrian Cioroianu taking over as Romania's Ambassador and Permanent Delegate to UNESCO, the Presidential Administration announced.

Tennis: Serbia wins place in elite

NOVI SAD- The Serbian tennis team has won a place in the Fed Cup World Group B as it drew a convincing victory against Paraguay in Novi Sad on Sunday, 3-1.

Female tennis player Aleksandra Krunic scored the winning point for Serbia as she beat Montserrat Gonzalez, 6-0, 6-2.

Previously, Veronica Cepede Royg defeated Ivana Jorovic, 3-6, 6-2, 6-1.
