PM unveils plans to boost Greece’s tourism

The number of foreign tourists in Greece could rise by 50 percent in the next decade, exceeding 30 million visitors per year, Prime Minister Antonis Samaras said during the annual general meeting of the Association of Hellenic Tourism Enterprises (SETE) at the Athens Concert Hall on Wednesday.
ELSTAT responds to claims of unreliable statistics
In response to recent reports in the media claiming that unreliable statistics were published by the Hellenic Statistical Authority, ELSTAT and Eurostat, regarding Greeces annual fiscal figures for 2013 as these showed surpluses in social security funds and local government, the former sought to clarify matters in a statement released on Wednesday.
Glezos quits committee on WWII reparations
SYRIZA MP Manolis Glezos on Tuesday quit Greece's cross-party committee on World War Two reparations, saying that the body had failed to live up to its task.
Glezos, a WWII resistance hero, said that instead of seeking ways to claim German compensation for Nazi crimes, the committee had degenerated into a study group.
Former coalition party leader plays down links to Papandreou
Fotis Kouvelis, the head of Democratic Left (DIMAR) who quit the current ruling coalition last June over the closure of former state broadcaster ERT, played down links between his party and former Socialist Premier George Papandreou over the weekend ahead of a scheduled joint appearance by the two men at a book launch in Athens on Monday.
