Martin Kahf: Bond in Serbia, why not?

Martin Kahf, a consultant for investing in film industry speaks for the Blic about benefits we might have from huge productions.

- Who knows, perhaps the new film about James Bond might be shoot in Serbia – Martin Kahf, the chief negotiator at the regional conference ‘Preparing the Danube for Chief Role in Films’ that shall be held in Belgrade on June 26 says.

- Producers are not interested in beautiful locations only. Belgrade has old architecture, bridges, trams – Kahf adds.

He points out that the architecture is an advantage of the Serbian capital.
- In the downtown you have a beautiful architecture from the Austro-Hungarian era. In just 15 minutes you can be in a forest. New Belgrade is fantastic since an action of a film can be situated in a socialist period and in the future. So, different film genres can be potentially shot in Belgrade – Kahf says.

The organizer of the mentioned conference about the Danube in film is the Serbian Film Association. Kahf is included in its work. The idea is that Belgrade and Serbia are positioned as a ‘film friendly’ environment.

We want that owners of locations and all competent bodies know how to prepare themselves for shooting, what to expect in case of an action scene to be shot in which case a bridge or a street is to be closed to traffic at eight in the morning – Kahf says.

In Cape Town, a city with about three million people that Kahf is from, the season of shooting in streets lasts six months. The result is 40 feature movies and 6,050 made ads.
