41 university employees sought over alleged Gülen links in Turkey's Tekirdağ
A court in the western province of Tekirdağ issued detention warrants for 41 people working at Namık Kemal University on charges of having links to the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) early on June 2, Doğan News Agency has reported.
Among the suspects are reportedly also several academics, a hospital director and executives of the university.
The Tekirdağ Chief Prosecutor's Office reportedly said the police have detained 13 suspects, while continuing their efforts to find the other remaining 28 individuals.
Following health checkups, the detained individuals were transferred to the Tekirdağ police headquarters for their testimonies.
Ankara says FETÖ is behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police and judiciary.
In the wake of the failed July 15, 2016 coup attempt, tens of thousands of people with alleged links to the movement have been detained, including many in the armed forces, police, judiciary, education and the business sector.
