Rodic confers with Slovenian Army Chief of General Staff
BELGRADE - Serbia's outgoing Defense Minister Nebojsa Rodic and Chief of the General Staff of the Slovenian Armed Forces Major General Dobran Bozic agreed in Belgrade on Thursday that the long-standing successful cooperation between Serbia and Slovenia is a good example of development of friendly relations in the region.
The Serbian side expressed appreciation of Slovenia's support in the EU integration process and the professionalism of more than 300 members of the Slovenian Armed Forces in KFOR, states a release issued by the Defense Ministry.
A number of joint activities have been realized in the course of last year, including active cooperation between military educational institutions and military archives, as well as cooperation in the area of budget and finances, adds the release.
The Slovenian Chief of Staff was informed about the features and capacities of the Center for chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defense, army base “South”, Military Medical Academy, Military Hospital in Nis, Peacekeeping Operations Center, and the Center for clearance of ammunition and weapons TRZ Kragujevac. The Serbian side showed interest in Slovenian army's experience related to participation in combat units and projects of the European Defense Agency.
As future areas of cooperation, Minister Rodic proposed training, preparation and possible joint participation in multinational operations and regional military exercises, as well as a stronger military economic cooperation with the Republic of Slovenia.
