Jankovic gets off to winning start in Rogers Cup doubles
MONTREAL - Serbia's Jelena Jankovic and Klara Koukalova of the Czech Republic got off to a winning start in the Rogers Cup women's doubles in Montreal early Wednesday by beating the Georgian-Ukrainian pair of Oksana Kalashnikova and Olga Savchuk 4-6, 7-6 (7-4), 10-0.
Jankovic and Koukalova will next face the winners of the match between Kristina Mladenovic (France)/Timea Babos (Hungary) and Michaella Krajicek (Netherlands)/Barbora Zahlavova-Strycova (Czech Republic).
Jankovic, who is Serbia's highest-ranked female tennis player, is defending the doubles title she won in Montreal last year with Katarina Srebotnik of Slovenia.
