Zimonjic and Nestor through to U.S. Open third round

NEW YORK - Serbian tennis player Nenad Zimonjic and Canada's Daniel Nestor qualified for the U.S. Open third round in men's doubles as they defeated Columbia's Nicolas Barrientos and Santiago Giraldo in the second round match late on Friday (CET), 6-2, 6-2.

In the fight for the quarterfinal, Zimonjic and Nestor will cross rackets with Scott Lipsky and Rajeev Ram who beat Michael Mmoh and Francis Tiafoe.

On Thursday, Zimonjic and Germany's Julia Goerges were unexpectedly ousted in the U.S. Open first round of mixed doubles.
