Grammar school students win nine medals in Bucharest

BELGRADE - Students of the Belgrade Mathematical Grammar School have won two silver and seven bronze medals at an international competition in informatics and physics in Bucharest.

"Our students have achieved exceptional success considering that it was their first time at this international competition and that the competition features teams that have already won the top medals at the World Olympiad in Informatics," the Mathematical Grammar School said in a statement.

In keeping with the rules of the International Olympiad in Informatics, the competition spanned two days, featuring 15 teams from 8 countries.

Filip Vesovic won the gold medal in the informatics competition, while Srdjan Matkovic, Ognjen Djuricic and David Davidovic claimed bronze medals.

Two Serbian teams took part in the physics competition.

The first team was comprised of students from the Mathematical Grammar School, who claimed five medals: Marko Susnjar won a silver medal, while Dusan Djordjevic, Marko Puric, Stefan Djordjevic and Vuk Radovic all won bronze medals.

In the other team, Miloje Djukanovic from the Loznica Grammar School won a silver medal, as did Jovan Jovanovic from the 13th Belgrade Grammar School, while Janko Susercic from the 1st Kragujevac Grammar School, Marija Sindik from the Mathematical Grammar School and Stefan Joka from the Novi Sad Grammar School won bronze medals.
