Spain band to perform in Belgrade on Friday
BELGRADE - The US rock band Spain will present their latest release "Sargent Place" at Belgrade's Dom Omladine cultural centre on Friday, their first ever concert in Serbia's capital.
The group is led by Josh Haden, son of recently deceased Charlie Haden, legendary jazz bassist.
The band's art of subdued emotion and style effectually mixing influences of the blues, folk, country and jazz music influenced the whole new scene of bands around the world.
During their 20-year career, the guys from Los Angeles recorded five studio albums and one live recording.
Song 'Spiritual' from the band's first album soon became a standard score performed by master musicians from Johnny Cash to Pat Metheny. When their next album "She Haunts My Dreams" achieved the same success as the first one, it became clear that Spain is here to stay and that their slow trance is the music of the future and a style that was later copied and followed by many musicians.
Their latest album, "Sargent Place", was released in November last year, and it is especially interesting because it features the last video of late Charlie Haden who often appeared at his son's rehearsals and performances.
Spain will perform in Belgrade within their great European tour.
Tickets can be purchased at the price of RSD 800 at the Dom Omladine box office and at Eventim.
