Attica is without taxis today – Rally of SATA at 9:30

Without taxi until 6am on Friday morning, Attica will be without a taxi after SATA decided to go on a 24-hour strike from 6am today.

As part of the strike, taxi owners are calling for a gathering with their vehicles at 9:30am at the junction of Spyrou Patsis and Kavala Avenue.

The taxi owners are seeking the withdrawal of the Ministry of Tourism’s amendment according to which, according to SATA, “it wants to prohibit by law the cross-checking of data that the control authorities are constitutionally entitled to exercise on both the drivers of the specific vehicles and the passengers carried.”

“The government shows in every way its willingness to expropriate our profession by supporting in every way the oligopolies and multinationals. It is up to us to let it know that we will no longer tolerate its practices of undermining our family peace and professional dignity”, the statement of SATA reads.
