Bulgaria President Condemns Prosecution’s Crime Suspicions

Bulgaria's President, Rumen Radev, on Wednesday condemned prosecution claims that he may have committed a crime related to conflicts of interest, accusing it devaluing important legal concepts and of "sensationalism".

It comes after the state prosecution led by Ivan Geshev on January 28 said it had evidence that a crime may have occurred.

Minister of National Defense Nicolae Ciuca was in Portugal for a two-day official visit at the invitation of his counterpart, Joao Gomes Cravinho, to set the main steps for the strengthening of the Romanian Air Force F-16 multirole aircraft fleet by the purchase of the next five fighter jets, the Defence Ministry said in a release.

Taiwan's military chief killed in helicopter crash

Taiwan's military chief was killed when an air force helicopter crashed near the capital on Jan. 2, the local media reported.

Chief of General Staff Shen Yi-ming and Air Force Commander Hsiung Hou-chi were among eight people aboard killed in the crash, the news agency Focus Taiwan reported, citing the National Defense Ministry.

A Helicopter Crashed in Afghanistan, Leaving 7 Dead

At least seven servicemеn in Afghanistan have been killed after the helicopter they were traveling with crashed, AFP reported.

According to the Afghan Ministry of Defense, the air force's MI-17 helicopter crashed due to "technical faults".

"All the seven crew members including four pilots were martyred in the incident," the ministry said in a statement.
