Young Men with Batons Storm into Sofia-based Shopping Center

A group of young men armed with batons stormed into a shopping mall on Alexander Stamboliiski Boulevard in Sofia late on Wednesday.

The incident happened at around 8:15 p.m.

The group consisted of 7-10 members, according to reports of different media outlets.

The security guards of the shopping center called the police.

Police To Announce Details on Disappearance of Ex-Chief of DANS

Bulgaria's Interior Ministry will announce on Wednesday details on the disappearance of Petko Sertov, former head of the National Security Agency (DANS).

According to his wife, Sertov calmly left home on Friday, leaving behind his mobile phones and hasn't been heard from or seen since then.

A fire broke out at the building of the Kanal 3TV channel in Sofia Tuesday evening, according to reports of Bulgaria's Interior Ministry.

The staff of Kanal 3 have been successfully evacuated from the building in Sofia's Krasna Polyana district.

The fire started in a nearby apartment and was probably caused by a short circuit, according to Nova TV.

Kapitan Andreevo Border Crossing Point Closed due to Flooding

The Kapitan Andreevo border crossing point has been closed since 11 pm on Wednesday due to flooding.

The processing of incoming and outgoing vehicles at the border crossing point has stopped due to flooding caused by an increase in the water level of the Kalamitsa River after heavy rain.

Migrant pressure and a shortage of finds are the main issues Bulgaria's Interior Ministry should tackle in the near term, Interior Minister Veselin Vuchkov said on Sunday.

The ministry's budget is expected to show a shortfall of some BGN 210M (EUR 105M) at the end of the year, Vuchkov told a news conference.
