Citizens for the European Development of Bulgaria

The parliamentary group of Bulgaria's main ruling party GERB restated its firm support for Environment Minister Ivelina Vasileva on Tuesday.

This comes after the oppositional Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) had demanded earlier on Tuesday the resignation of Vasileva due to the damages caused by the recent floods in the country.

Deputy Prime Minister Rumyana Bachvarova has accused the coalition partners of center-right party GERB of acting like opposition parties.

Bachvarova, as cited by dnevnik.bg, insisted that the relations between the parties participating in the ruling coalition had not reached a critical point.

President Rosen Plevneliev was expected to give GERB an official mandate to form a government on Wednesday.

Boiko Borisov, the Prime Minister from 2009 to 2013 and leader of Citizens for the European Development of Bulgaria was thus expected to become Prime Minister once again, having overcome objections from GERB's new coalition partner, the centre-right Reformist Block.

Center-right party GERB is to hold another round of negotiations with four parliamentary parties this week, its leader Boyko Borisov said.

Borisov announced after a Monday meeting of the leadership, mayors, municipal councilors, MEPs and MP-elects from GERB the right-wing coalition Reformist Bloc would be the first political entity conservatives will meet for talks.
