Turkish activists make the ‘big jump’ to free rivers from dams, HES

Activists in Turkey have gathered along several rivers across the country to make a swan dive in the global “big jump” event calling for the protection of waterways to protest the scores of hydroelectric plant projects (HES) and dams that threaten dozens of environmentally protected or untouched areas.

Two remaining arrested suspects in KCK case released

The remaining two arrested people in the Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) trial were released July 11 by a Diyarbakır court, as the hearings will continue.

The same court in the southeastern province had released 30 of the 32 arrested suspects in the main case against the KCK, the urban wing of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

CCR: No juridical conflict between the President and Gov't over representation at European Council meeting

The Constitutional Court of Romania on Wednesday unanimously ruled that there was no juridical conflict of a constitutional nature between the Government and the Presidency over the representation of Romania at a June summit meeting of the European Council.

The ruling is final and generally binding.
